Enquiring minds want
to know:
Where have you been?
What have you done?
Where are you now?
What are you doing with your life?
Do you have a partner?
Did you reproduce?
What do you like to do with your spare time?
What would you like to tell the whole world if you could?
WHAT-EVER!
And please remember that
nobody looks now like they did then, so don't be bashful.
We loved us then, we'll love us now.

Shelley Amburn
Watson: Twenty years. WOW! After I left Philomath,
I moved to Portland and played College Volleyball. I was
hit by a drunk driver and was no longer able to play ball so I
lost my scholarship for the next year. I did not want to
stay in Portland, so I moved to Abilene, Texas to finish up my
degree in Mathematics Education and Physical Education at Abilene
Christian University. That is where I met my husband, Van.
We have been married for 15 years and have a daughter Caylsa who
is 12 years old, and two sons, Casey who is 10 years old and
Cade who is 9 years old. After Van and I were married, we
moved to Dallas, Texas. I HATE the metroplex. We were
there for a year and moved back to Medford, Oregon area then to
the Bend area. We were part owners of a Construction
business called Adaptive Homes. We lived there for 5 years
and then bought a business in Abilene, Texas. That' s right,
we are back in Texas. We sold the business in Texas and
now Van is the Assistant Building Official for the City of Abilene
and I am a Math teacher. I teach 6th grade math - AP Calculus.
I also coached Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball and Track.
This is my first year not to coach since Caylsa is now in Junior
High and involved in sports, and the boys are into soccer and
baseball. (I wanted to be able to see all their games).
We are building on to our house at this time and love living out
in the country. I will not be at the reunion, Van and I
are celebrating our anniversary in Las Vegas!! FUN,FUN,FUN!
I hope everyone has fun and wish that I could see all of you,
maybe some other time. |

2004 |
Laurie
Bauer Rosborough: (This is written by Rob) Laurie Bauer
and I left Philomath in 1985 bound for the home of
the fighting Ducks. We spent 4 yrs there both in pre-med. Laurie
(who is much smarter than me) decided at the last minute not
to go to med school, while I was accepted and attended OHSU
in Portland. We were talking about marriage as we started life
in Portland, but delayed that until 1992 due to financial aid
reasons.(Rob needed ALOT) In Sept of 1992 we were married in
the Old Church in Portland. We spent our honeymoon backpacking
in Belize for 3 weeks the following February. Laurie confirmed
that the bugs, bats and caves were not much to her liking. She
prefers the coast, beaches and marine life. I liked it all -
especially the fly fishing and diving. I decided during Med
school that I had to have a practice where I could get to know
my patients well and to interact with them regularly, so I chose
Family Practice. I had originally thought that Pathology and
forensics would be cool, but alas dead people don't usually
talk. Laurie and I decided to go out of the northwest for residency,
so we spent 3 years in northern Minnesota. Freeze your ass off
in the winter; heat, humidity, and bugs in the summer. Nice
people, but the weather was too harsh. During my second year
in residency, our son, Kelsey was born. He had a little bit
of a rough start but rallied quickly and is now a smart, funny,
athletic 10yr old. In 1996 we moved to Silverton,Or to join
an established Family practice with a classmate and great friend
and her husband. We are lucky to live in a community where the
Family docs still provide obstetrical care. We all deliver babies
and do a full hospital practice.
In 1997 our 2nd child Erica was born in Silverton.
Our little house in town now too small, we found a great place
out of town. We live in a little Paradise down the end of a
1/2 mile drive. Our house is right on Butte Creek with a deck
right on the creek. Its a fairly large creek and frequently
see kayakers floating by in the spring. Our 4 acres is surrounded
by a large 1500 acre farm so we are tucked back all by ourselves.
(Laurie's Mom built a house next door.) but
wait - there's more!

Christy
Bell Nelson : After high school I went to LBCC for accounting.
I married Larry in 1986 and moved far, far, away to Albany,
OR. I became a full time MOM when I had my first daughter
in 1987. I now have three daughters; Jamie 17, Amanda
15, Lisa 11. I was in Girl Scouts for ten years, had a sign
business in my home for ten years, and have worked in
the schools for the past five years. We have remodeled every house
we have lived in the past 19 years, but this last year we
have given up all our spare (and not so spare) time to build a
new house on nine acres here in Albany. The house must be
done by July, so we may have to start hiring out some of the work.
I am looking forward to having some time for other things. We
like to camp, boat (when there is water in the lakes), and ride
ATV's. |

Carlea Carter:
After high school, I went to work at OSU for five years. During
that time, I met my husband, Ryan. We moved to Portland in 1990.
There, I worked for a real estate company for almost five years.
In 1994, our first son, Dylan, was born. We moved back to Corvallis
shortly after that, and I came back to work for OSU.
In 1996, our second son, Avery, was born. I'm not a big hobby
person -- I work full-time, take classes, and try to keep up with my
boys, which seems to take up most of every day. Ryan and I have
been married for almost 14 years, which I think is quite
amazing when I think back on the "old days."
I've learned a lot of lessons in this life -- and many of
them the hard way. However, I can surely say that life is
now sweeter than ever. I look forward to seeing everyone in August.

Nancy
Craig Higgins: I married my husband Kevin in 1989. He's
a great guy, and I am still happily married. I am a stay at
home mom with two scrumptious kids and on a good day, I love
it. On a bad day, I would like a little more freedom,
but it’s all good.
It was fun to read the other bios. My favorite
thing about our school is the smallness of it. I get teased
frequently when friends find out how small our graduating class
was, but I always remind them how non-pretentious it is. Everyone
genuinely cares about each other and most of us grew up together.
There were about 5 of us at the DQ for the 5 year reunion and
around 10 of us at the park for the 10 year. Maybe we
can beat 20 of us at the 20 year.
Anyway, it will be fun to see everyone.
Sincerely, Nancy Higgins

Photographic proof of Andy and A-1 Taxi's involvement
in the 1997 string of drive-by skittlings.

Andy
Epperly: Hello fellow Warriors. After high school I attended
L.B.C.C. with many of my fellow PHS alumni, we had some great
fun there ( some of you know what I mean ) even learned a thing
or two. I also met some of my best friends to this day at good
ole’ Low Buck. Ended up in both auto and diesel tech (
go figure ). I also competed in two national V.I.C.A. competitions
in auto mechanics, with respectable results. After all that
I was burnt out on being an auto tech, so I became an "auto
parts specialist" for several years.
Around 1994 my mother, brother, and I started
A-1 Taxi in Corvallis. Talk about stories, Corvallis and Philomath
are still pretty small towns. Then again not! We had a lot of
fun running the company, and had a lot of great drivers. After
we closed up shop with the taxi I slacked, and worked with a
logger friend running equipment for a while before getting my
current employment with the U.S. Postal Service. I enjoy my
job, and have a great boss.
I am still a motor head, however my real passion
these days is all things railroad. I am a self described train
geek. I have been a member of the Corvallis Society of Model
Engineers ( in Adair Village ) since 1996, and club VP for the
last 5 years. I have also been a member of the National Railway
Historical Society Toledo OR. chapter since 1999. In both groups
we have done some great work, and had a lot of fun doing it.
Last summer I attended my first National Model Railroad Assn.
national convention in Seattle, talk about overwhelming. (5000+
of us freaks from all around the world.)
So now you have some of my info for the last 20
years. Hope to see as many as we can muster in August.

Toby Erkson:
After high school I went to OSU in Electrical Engineering. Loved
engineering and hated everything else. Left after four terms with
a 1.60GPA and ten parking tickets. Joined the US Navy as a Sonar
Technician, Surface, and spent three years serving my country.
Two boring, six month cruises to the Persian Gulf, including 94
days at sea (i.e. no land in sight for 94 days, kids). Hated every
second of it but it was the best mistake I ever made. Got out
on the first of April and put myself through four great years
at Southern Oregon State University in Ashland (now it's Southern
Oregon University). Got my BS with honors in Computer Information
Systems with a minor in Business Admin. and another minor in Photography.
Moved to Portland and worked for Intel in Hillsboro for seven
hard years. During my sabbatical they let me go and gave my job
to two people in India -- corporate loyalty does not exist in
this century. Two years later I found work as a Visual Basic programmer
for MS Excel in a start-up company and I'm loving it. The best
thing about it: People actually appreciate my work.
Never married nor have any kids. My girlfriend is living with
me and we're in it for the long haul. I enjoy cars, particularly
German ones. I still have my VW Squareback that has won a few
trophies and I do some side work in our VW shop that's dedicated
to the Type 3 (my model of car). I've enjoyed scuba diving, rock
climbing, mountain climbing, bungee jumping, parachuting, paint
ball, drag racing and unprotected sex...LOL...and have come out
unscathed! What can I say, I love an adventure.
My spare time is either traveling with my girlfriend (last trip
was Cancun and we got hit with the tail end of hurricane Ivan...really
messed up my snorkeling plans!) working on my cars, motorcycle,
house or helping somebody else with their car or house -- I'm
a jack-of-all-trades type of guy. My web site: http://www.icbm.org/
Click on the orange car or the maroon one to hit my side of the
web site. |

Toby and Antonette -
Toby, we need a new family shot that includes Bella! Congratulations
to the new mama and papa.

Mary Fletcher:
I have been all over since graduating from high school. I got
my B.A. from Oregon State then I taught one year in Madras,
Oregon. Then I went over to Guam with a friend of mine from
college and taught 4th grade for one year. Then I moved to Seattle
after that. I taught reading and worked at a daycare. Next,
some friends from college persuaded me to move to the Tri-Cities
and I have been here ever since. I taught 4th and 1st grade
at a private Christian school for three years before losing
my job. I went to school in Portland for one year, then I moved
back to the Tri-Cities. I met my husband, Tracy, four years
ago. We’ve been married for three. He has a daughter,
Ashley, who is 10 years old. Our son, Ian, was born last year
on July 9th. He is almost nine months old. I am substitute teaching
and working on my Master’s degree in Literacy at WSU Tri-Cities.

Gee Anderton: Well, well, well! I am one of
the few who still live in Philomath. I think I wanted
to get out more than anyone. But I find myself older
(not grown up!) and raising my children here. Where
to start... Ive been married 10 (almost) years to a 1981 graduate
of PHS, Buzz Anderton, and we have 2 girls - Morgan 15 and Drew
8. Buzz owns an Accounting firm in Corvallis and
I stay at home and work part time at the office and do nail
extentions at my Salon in Philomath (Wild Hair). Morgan
is a sophomore at PHS, she is a cheerleader and also plays softball.
We have 10 acres just east of the middle school on Chapel Drive. I
know this is hard to believe but I am a farm girl! Cows, cats,
dogs, goats and one horse (it's Drew's). I look forward to seeing
all of you in August!

Ann-Sofie
Goransson-Sydow : I´m not sure if anyone remembers
me but I graduated at Philomath High School in 1985. I was the
Swedish exchange student that lived up Old Peak Road with the
Wendlands.(We still have contact and I see at least Judy once
every other year. Rich came to my wedding.)
When I came back I went on with school and graduated formally
in 1986. After that I decided to take a break. The world was
waiting for me and I worked
enough so I could travel around it for half a year (alone).
I came back and took up studies again, Art history at the university
of Lund. I dropped out (a good start as a student but please
don´t stop reading...I didn´t fail completely).
I moved back home and started to work as an art teacher and
at the same time I traveled some more. I actually went back
to Philomath four times...plus some other places. I also took
up painting and for a while I did take sewing classes. I had
the ambition to make everything myself...haha. Well in the early
90´s I started at an artschool, painting full time. That
went well. I had a studio and had some exhibitions but I felt
I hadn´t had enough of studies. I went on to Stockholm
and four more years at the University College of Arts Crafts
and Design (Konstfack). For a while I worked as a Deputy Dean
at a College. A wonderful experience but it swollowed my time.
At the moment I work at the Interactive Institute as a researcher
and project manager. A job that fits my personality really well.
My focus is on learning, art and interactivity. A little bit
of this and a little bit of that.
Privately, I married a wonderful man, Petter Sydow
(a gameproducer), and have two kids, Rut 2 years and Erling
4 years. We live in an apartment in Stockholm, the capitol of
Sweden. I still paint at home but as we say here "everything
has it´s time". Maybe I will paint some more one
day. I must say it has been a great experience to read about
all of you. But I must say that I had to look up some of you
in my Yearbook of '85 to be sure it actually was you. It would
be nice to see you all again. I´ll keep on looking up
the page.
Love, Ann-Sofie (not Aunt Sofie :-))

Bob
Hendricks : After High School I took a job at Evanite
Fiber working the graveyard shift. During the next 3 years,
in order to keep my sanity, I coached volleyball at Corvallis
High School. Deciding that enough was enough I enrolled
at OSU. During my time at OSU I played and coached for the Men's
Club Volleyball Team and was the Student Assistant Coach to
the Women's Volleyball Team.
I graduated from Oregon State University in 1993
with a BS in Physical Education (have never officially used
it). I moved to Sacramento, CA in 1994 when I met
my first partner and then on to San Francisco in 1998 after
my partner passed away. From the time I had moved
to Sacramento I have been working contract jobs. Those
contract jobs consist of: Software Instructor (several companies),
Account Receivable Manager (Sacramento County Courts), Toll
Free Auditor (MCI), New Product Coordinator & Software Documentation
Coordinator (HP), Off Campus Housing Manager (USF), Facility
Manager (Positive Health Program, UCSF), Project Coordinator
(D.C. Construction Company), and Security Database Analyst &
Security Services Analyst (UCSF Police Department) which is
now a permanent job. The contract jobs have allowed
me to travel, play competitive volleyball, and pursue my other
hobbies and interests.
I hope all of you make it a point to attend. As
someone recently told me about our class, "What I noticed
about your class is that by the time you got to be Seniors you
didn't seem to have "clicks", you just all seemed
to interact so well." I would have to agree
completely and hope to get a chance to see ALL of you again.

Brenda
Hunter Draper: After leaving Philomath the end of my
freshman year, I moved to Corvallis and graduated from CHS.
I moved to Eugene in 1988. I married my husband in 1996
and became an instant mom to his son. I was blessed to
adopt him in a couple years later. We had our second son
Jan. 1, 1998. I work part-time as an accountant
and my husband is in the real estate business. Our boys
are now 13 and 7. They keep us busy with sports,
school and church activities. For fun we enjoy camping,
biking and skiing.

| Don Hurley:
Greetings from up the road in Bellingham, WA. In the 20 years
since graduation, this is the closest I have lived to Philomath
since. The long and winding road has taken me to San Diego
three times, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Flint, Binghamton, and now
in the shadow of Vancouver, BC, all in pursuit of better opportunities
in radio. I was working at KFLY since we were all juniors,
and I’ve been in the same industry ever since. I married
in 1991, divorced in 2003, and have two daughters, now 18 and 11.
I adopted Ariana in 1993, and Avalon was born that same year. Avalon
and I have a dog, Bonkers, a bird, and a bunny. My folks
are well and living in the same place in Wren. My sister, Dianne,
married a West Albany grad and they have two kids. I’m
an avid hockey (Detroit Red Wings, Vancouver Canucks) and baseball
fan (Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres), Without hockey this year,
I'm pretty excited about baseball season! I spend a lot
of time and money on eBay, I like to matte and frame pictures and
memorabilia, and have an extensive CD collection as well.
No, I haven't been back to Australia yet either. Looking forward
to the reunion…see you there! |

Hutley: I live in Central Oregon. Graduated
from OSU in 1990. Taught English for a while. Went
back to school. Graduated in Computer Science. I'm

to be a computer geek.) As to the social life--well...hard to
say.

Kennedy: I came across this web site by accident doing
a google search. I was impressed Ariana great job! To my surprise
it warmed my heart to read about the reunion. I was very happy
to see how well everyone is doing, Bob H., Trish S., Stacy Pool,
and anyone else I didn't mention. Jack Noble is something else
5 kids, wow I thought I had it rough, and so is Rob R and Laurie,
Shannon and Robin. I am so happy for everyone. I am sorry about
Kim Stokes and her MS. As far as I know with the exception of
Roger B. no one else has passed. I hope this perception of mine
is true. I saw the picture of the reunion and everyone looks
great. I saw Aaron M. and he looks awesome.
As far as bio stuff here is a few things. My life
has had its ups and downs over the past 20 years. I will mention
the up stuff. However, the down I don't regret because its made
me a better person.
In 1990 I graduated Oregon State with a Zoology
degree. I was accepted to pharmacy school at Oregon State and
also a medical School in Kansas City. I choose medical. I graduated
from medical school 1995 and did a 3 year residency in Family
Practice down in Mesa Arizona. Like Rob R. I like primary care
medicine. Between 1991 and 1998 my wife Melinda and I had 4
boys, healthy, and I am very proud of them. The oldest one is
allot like me (scary). From 1998-2003 I owned a private medical/family
practice In Apache Junction Arizona. I left private practice
in 2004 and now I work as a medical director in urgent care
medicine and part time for a drug rehabilitation center in phoenix.
Needless to say I am tired all the time. My children are now
14, 13, 10, 8. I am considering a move back to Corvallis in
a few years.
I wish everyone the best and may see you at the
next reunion. Ethan

Llama, Murdock the: Are
you awake?
I don't remember Murdock, but Don says he was
the guy who sat in the back in science class and almost set
Mr. Gosser on fire. You'd think I would remember eyes like those.
Maybe he had less facial hair in his younger days.
All I remember from science class was that Sharleen
and I would write our names on the tables in alcohol and then
light them. And that I spent a fortune that year on broken test
tubes. I think I could still identify an owl pellett. Oh, and
the smell of burnt hair. Mmmmm. Smell bad. Memory good.

Magness: Greetings to you!!
When I got out of high school I went to Linn Benton
for awhile, then went to Phagen's Beauty College, where I graduated
as a Cosmetologist. I then moved to Roseburg where I got a job
with my aunt for awhile. I then decided since I had no ties
and wanted to see the world, I joined the Navy. I served four
years and loved it. I got out because I married and was going
to have a baby and wanted to be home with my family. Later my
husband and I separated and divorced. I lived and worked in
Roseburg for 8 years until I met my second husband and we were
married in 2003. He and I worked in a stud mill.
I am doing very well and keep busy. I work in
an adult care facility now, in the memory care unit. I enjoy
taking care of people. I enjoy being there for peoples' families
and being part of a team. My husband, daughter and I live in
Lincoln City. We moved here just last December as we love the
coast. We also enjoy hiking, and camping, and just being outdoors.
I like to fix things, I'm good at it, and enjoy live entertainment
and sports.
I've thought about my classmates alot and sure
was surprised to receive the invitation in the mail. I look
forward to seeing you all and hope to hear the stories of where
you all have been, and how you are doing. I look forward to
catching up. Take care! Becky

| Pat Mariman:
Guten Tag from good old Germany! After graduating from PHS I spent
a year working at D-n-D before taking two years of Criminal Justice
at LBCC. My choice to join the US Army was greatly influenced by
not being able to afford two more years of college. After basic
training in Fort Benning, GA, I was luckily sent to Stuttgart, Germany
for a 20 month overseas tour. My plans of doing my two years and
then going back to college (using the Army college fund), were quickly
changed when I met my wife, Silke. We've been married now for 15
years and have a 14 year old son, David and an 11 year old daughter,
Kimberly. We've been living in Bruchsal (120 km south of Frankfurt)
since I got out of the Army in 1990. Im currently managing the logistics
department of a semiconductor distributor and assembler. In
my free time I play golf and coach basketball (other involuntary
hobbies include yardwork and home improvement...). I'm really looking
forward to seeing everyone, hopefully we'll have a good turnout.

| Tom McDonald:
I went to LBCC right after school, but wasn't very serious about
life. I ended up wrecking a motorcycle and enduring brain
trauma, but managed to finish my degree anyway. After that,
I spent many years in Alaska where I operated construction equipment,
drove truck, owned and operated a small electronics repair
shop, and did lots of scuba diving. In 1993, I moved to Washington
and moved in with my wife Serena. I worked in Seattle as an
electronics design engineer for a few years and got a
software degree at UW before deciding to give it all up for yet
more school. In 1996, we moved to Corvallis with our newborn
son Iain so I could attend OSU, where I graduated with a BS in 2000.
While attending OSU, I also obtained my pilot's license and operated
a computer sales/service business with my wife. In 2000, I
was accepted at UC Davis for graduate school in electrical engineering.
With our son and newborn daughter Jennie, we moved to Davis, CA
where I completed my Masters in Analog Circuit Design. From
there, I accepted a job with Intel in Hillsboro, OR, bought 11 acres
of rural property, and have been doing the whole "farm thing".
I currently work at Intel as a CPU design engineer (I design the
Pentium 4 chips). Anyone from our class is welcome to email
me at tom-mcdonald@msn.com. |

Moldowan Spahiu: Spent one very failing year at OSU.
Proceeded to Vancouver Washington to a travel school. In
1987 I moved to Newark New Jersey to work for
Continental Airlines. I worked there for about 10 years.
I met my husband Isen shortly after moving to New Jersey.
We have been married for 12 years. I am a stay at home homeschooling
mom to Justin 9, Aren 7 and Hailey 3.
It is really great to see all of the faces and families.
Most people don't look like they have changed that much.

Swisher: After graduating from Philomath I did get married,
and of course it only lasted 1 year. I then moved to Seattle
along with half of our class. After about 3 years I moved
back and started working at The Corvallis Clinic. A few
months after I had been back from Seattle I met my husband of
14 years. I transfered to the Albany Branch
and work for a family practice physician in Albany. I am a Certified
Medical Assistant and love it. In my free time I
am also a Team Oregon Motorcyle Safety Instructor. I love
motorcyles and love to teach people how to ride them.
My husband and I do not have any children; only 1 cocker spaniel
and a tank full of fish. Our other hobbies are RC airplanes
and cars. We live in Albany where we bought a piece of
property about 4 years ago.

The Nobles.
|
Jack
Noble: Hello! Jack has been so busy and has not been
able to write, SO he is at the mercy of his dear wife's writing
ability and sense of humor. Though...I do not believe that any
can top Rod's biography and picture!
After high school Jack headed over the mountains
to attend Eastern Oregon State College. While there he played
on the EOSC football team, blew his knee out at the end of the
season and was not able to play baseball. It was during this
time that he met the woman of his dreams (he just didn't realize
it for three more years!). The cows were calling him back home
and so for his sophmore year he headed to OSU. The summer before
his senior year it finally happened and he realized that he
had found the "woman of his dreams" a few years earlier.
He graduated from OSU in the 1989 and was married in the fall.
The next fall he had his first daughter; the next winter his
second daughter; the next spring his third daughter; the next
winter his first son, and the next spring his second son. Whew...sometime
in there he managed to work at the Corvallis Auction yard, Copeland
Lumber and then to the job he has stayed at until now. He has
worked at the Dept. of Agriculture since 1996 and coordinates
the Livestock Brand Inspection Program. He gets to tell people
what to do, where to go and gets to go on exciting excursions
to exotic places like Vale, Burns, and Medford on a regular
basis!
Our sixth child, Laura, was born Dec. 30, 2003.
Her brothers and sisters think that she walks on water and absolutely
adore her! As you can imagine, our home is a bit busy, especially
when you add in that we home school. Jack teaches math at 6
AM before he leaves for his office in Salem and gets to be the
principle (his power thing). We have a small farm out in Wren
where we raise sheep, goats, horses, cats (too many) and dogs.
He is also taking care of his folks and is running the ranch
for them in his spare time, not to mention farming about 120
acres around Philomath.
This photo was taken above Wallowa Lake last August.

baby Laura and Joseph.

Oglesbee: I am married to a wonderful man, Louie, since
2003. We live in Portland. I have one son, Holden who is 9 and
very active. In every sense of the word! He is in 3rd grade and
is still at the age where he loves school. Hopefully that will
continue throughout his life! Louie has a 15-year-old son, Josh,
who lives with us. He is a sophomore at Madison High School. Both
enjoy baseball and are looking forward to the spring so that they
can play. Holden just had his first year of flag football and
loved it and did very well. He is very athletically inclined.
I have been in the mortgage industry since 1987. I have done
almost every job there is that pertains to the entire process
of obtaining a mortgage. I am now an underwriter (the one who
makes the final decision) and enjoy it immensely.
I have lived in either Portland, Philomath or Bend since graduating.
Most recently in Bend, prior to moving to Portland to be with
Louie. My parents still live in Bend, but I keep trying to move
them here. Mom wants to, step-dad does not. I am finally going
to college after 20 years of being out of school. I am achieving
my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. May take me a few years
to do it, but am plugging away.
I am enjoying helping plan the reunion. It should be a great weekend.
I hope that all of you can make it. Feel free to contact me directly

Ariana Orton:
So... In the past year, we hired our first employee for our clinic,
I learned how to make bead and wire jewelry, switched to an all
raw diet, and switched back. Healthy, but I missed food too much.
My daughter turned 10 and her head hits my chin when she hugs
me. My son turned 5 and became "Super-hero Hug Guy".
Watch for him at Marvel Comics. My cute little brother became
photographer dude extra-ordinaire, with all the gizzy-widgets,
and he took this portrait of me. First picture I've liked of my
face since, well, you know. You were there. Look at my grey hair!
Life has not slowed down for one minute. That's how I like it.
Neil and I are drooling over some property up on Pumpkin Ridge.
Tom and Serena would be our neighbors. But Neil was unemployed
for 6 months this year, so we are still trying to figure out how
to swing that. It's fairyland up there, I'm telling you. You really
should come to the barbecue next year. We need some of you tall
guys to help us get that RC airplane out of the trees on the ridge!

Stacy Pool Motschenbacher:
Well, my life has changed a lot in the last 20 years. It really
began when I met my husband. He was a veterinary student at
OSU and we fell in love over a llama. He graduated and we
ended up (in a round-about way) owning a veterinary clinic in Rogue
River, OR.
We started dog sled racing about nine years ago and it has been
a blast. There is this total rush when you are hooking up
all of these screaming dogs to a sled that only weighs 22lbs.
The sled is attached to the truck by a rope on a quick release,
and the dogs are trying so hard to just go, that the truck rocks
a bit. You get on the sled and release the rope and you
are off like a shot! Then there is total silence. The
only sound is the sound of dogs breathing and their pads hitting
the snow. The picture above is at the Diamond Lake Sled Dog
Race. I can't remember who caught whom, but we were racing
to the finish! Mike is on the left.
Mike and I really enjoy the woods and so we also bought horses to
enjoy the summer exploring the trails. Our new adventure is
competing in endurance rides on our horses. I completed my
first ride in April and won...the coveted tail end award.
Yep, I was last place.
I really enjoyed everyone' bios. The web site and this whole
reunion is so well organized I am really impressed. Hope to see
everyone in August. I have a long list to do...lose weight,
get rid of those grey hairs, bleach my teeth (maybe just have
caps put on), buy a Corvette (or maybe a Hummer), buy a new wardrobe,
make a million dollars so I can afford all those things. My
husband is my handsome boy-toy, so I am set there...hmmmm anything
else? |

"Sasha" Radisavljevic: After that highlight
year in Philomath I headed back to Yugoslavia facing a bit of
an anticlimax: a mandatory military term in the army. My mother
thought the service would make me a man but it felt more like
doing time. This extra time, however, allowed me to prepare
for university entrance exams that I missed during my senior
year. University of Ljubljana, about 2 hours from my home town,
taught me computers, pattern recognition, and speech processing
which was to become my life’s passion. On the personal
side I carried on with choir singing (that I discovered during
my PHS year), kayaking the remote rivers of Yugoslavia and ballroom
dancing. I also witnessed the disintegration of my country along
the language and ethnic lines so by the time I was ready to
start my productive life my homeland was called Slovenia and
was the size of a Florida key. A mix of this disappointment,
my passion for learning and adventurous spirit brought me to
University of Florida into the Master’s program. My budget
was good only for a semester or two but I figured it would make
a nice trip anyway. Fortunately, graduate work opportunities
(and Clemens foundation - thanks) allowed me to finance my degree
to the end. I got to work on cool projects with neural network
models, MRI and radar image recognition, published a few journal
papers. My wife Bosha and I started realizing we wanted children,
and to settle somewhere for good - like Canada! Turned out it
was difficult to immigrate to the US ... legally at least. So
here we are cozy on the beautiful west coast in Victoria. We
have three girls: Nina(10), Mateya (7) and Helena (4). We live
in a cute little townhouse on a 3 acre property (shared with
the other 66 units though), but heck, there are at least lots
of playmates for the kids around. Professionally, I’ve
worked at IVL Technologies all this time creating algorithms
for understanding and changing human voice and musical signals.
We are the designers behind products for TC Helicon, Digitech,
Onkey Karaoke, etc.Class reunion makes me really think what
I want to do with the “other” 20 years. Unfortunately,
I’ll have to miss it this time around due to an extended
family trip this summer but I would love to do a 21st anniversary
if anyone is interested.

Rosborough Bauer: This
is chapter 2. Click here for Chapter 1 and the fabulous Belize
photo. My Mom decided to leave Philomath after a number of
years and move to Silverton. We thought about getting her a little
place, but ended up with a 5000 sq ft Victorian in town. She and
Laurie got a wild hair and decided a Bed and Breakfast was a good
idea. SO, after 12 months of renovations, serious dineros, and
alot of frustrations, the Water Street Inn was born. It has 5
rooms and an apartment for my mom. They run the place together
and it is now finishing its 3rd year. Laurie and mom do a great
job and the Inn is fairly successful. It has been featured in
Sunset, The NY Times and recently written up in the Oregonian.
It is also for sale if any of you want a great investment <wink>
We all like to play in the outdoors. Camping and hiking. We travel
as much as we can and the kids seem to like that as well. Kelsey
and I fish about as much as time allows. He caught quite a few
salmon and steelhead last year. Now he has the bug. Erica likes
to do make up, dress up, shoes, bows, kittens and horses. Laurie
is busy with the Inn and kids but has lots of fun with her girlfriends.
She even traveled to see Oprah in Chicago recently. We are Duck
football season ticket holders since we moved back. We travel
to some games and go to all the home games. I love the games,
though I think my passion far surpasses the others.
So, we are now going on 9 years in Silverton, our lives are now
revolving around kids, school, the Inn, and my practice. Silverton
Hospital has more than doubled in size. We deliver about 1700
babies a year now, compared to 600 when I started. Our medical
staff now has about 100 MDs. In January 2005 I was inducted as
the new Medical Staff President. BFD I say, I missed a meeting
sometime back and won by a landslide. Will keep me fairly busy
over the next 2 years. I'm trying to see if anyone has ever been
impeached. Maybe I'll be the first.
We feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful family, we are
happy to live in Oregon, and we are grateful everyday for our
health. Cheers to all our classmates, we are looking forward to
catching up.

Schoof: 2005 is going to be a fantastic year including
our 20 year reunion. I'm looking forward to seeing all
of you. After high school, I moved up to Portland and
went to school at Mt. Hood for one year and then spent a semester
in France. I also spent some time in New Jersey and New
York. I lived in Houston, TX for three years, but I missed
the Northwest. My home is now in Brush Prairie, WA on
5 acres. The cows are gone, but I know exactly where to
pour the foundation of my dream home. I have a beautiful
daughter, Haley. She is 5 years old and in kindergarten.
Reminds me of Kings Valley Elementary School! I was in
banking the last 14 years but have recently decided to go back
to school and start a new career. That is a big adventure
for the new year. It has been fun catching up with a lot
of you already. The reunion will be something you will
not want to miss! Please e-mail me or call with any questions
or suggestions you may have. 360/721-0559 - elkcamp66@yahoo.com

Scott: Living in beautiful Bend Oregon the last 20 years.
Lovely wife Carol of 13 years. Charming teenage daughter Kayla.
Living the dream.

Alice Springer:
Sheeesh, twenty years. What a surprise to be reflecting on that
much time. After high school I high-tailed it to Seattle to attend
SPU, graduated with a BA in music but did not pursue the intended
music/teacher career. Instead I spent the next ten or so years
working a variety of jobs – and I do mean a variety…
I eventually ended up working as a project manager for a Public
Affairs company (similar to PR but involves public policy). That
was a great experience but apparently I can’t stay in one
place for too long. I’m now working for the Seattle Public
Library.
Personally, I’ve yet to reproduce although I have some
great houseplants and a beautiful but somewhat crazy cat named
Shady. I live in Belltown (downtown) Seattle and work just behind
the Pike Place Market. Very fun to see others bios!

Kim
Stokes: After high school, I went to Oregon State and
majored in Marketing/Management. Went straight in to retail
management--been at Eddie Bauer for about 11 years. I
was grandfathered into a part-time management program after
my first child, Nicole, (who is now 7). I worked part-time,
and my husband Rody and I owned a bar for about 5 years.
I had a second child, Jacob, (now almost 4). We sold the
bar, I went back into full-time management running my own store
when I was diagnosed with MS. The worst part is the shots a
few times a week which create headaches. It is supposed
to slow down the progression--so far, no real symptoms.
I just accepted a position as a sales rep for a small company
out of Seattle to cover southern Oregon in Natural/Specialty
foods (an industry my husband is now in). I start in April...kind
of scary after 16 years in retail, but the rewards should pay
off (no nights and weekends!) My hobbies include water
skiing and golf in the summer and lots of shopping in the winter!

Hoyt: How do you sum up 20 years? So much has happened,
but the last couple of years have been the best. I have
been married to my husband Will for a little over two years.
He's my best friend and a wonderful husband and father. We have
a 13 month old son, Ray. He is our only child, and he's
wonderful. Will is an active duty Marine, and we live in
29 Palms, CA. Not as pretty as it sounds, it's in the middle
of the Mojave Desert! Who knew they would stick Marines
where there is no water... we sure didn't! Since we live
in the middle of nowhere, I am taking full advantage of being
a stay at home mom. I will be coming back to Oregon when
Will deploys again in February or March. This will be his
third deployment to Iraq in as many years, and it will be the
hardest for all of us. So, I will be around for the reunion.
Looking forward to seeing everyone! Take care all!
Update: After graduation I dropped out of OSU (Seems to be a
resonating theme), got married to a person whom I divorced 11
LONG years later, went back to university... this time Western
Oregon, got my BS in Corrections so I can be a Probation Officer
when I grow up. I am on my way back to Oregon in a week
because Will's 3rd deployment to Iraq was moved up from February
to now, and I'm tired of living in the middle of the desert.
Update 2: Will got his orders today... he's been assigned as
THE recruiter in Grants Pass Oregon... YAYYYYY!!!!! So now I'm
scouring the internet for realtors, rental agencies, etc. We need
to find a house!!! ACK. Exciting. Anyway, wanted to let you all
know.
If you know anyone in the area.... or know of any rentals (3 bed,
2 bath, preferrable with a little land, or a shop, or both, but
kinda near town) I'd be grateful for any info. I'm so excited!!!
Yay.

Rod's family is too big to fit in one photo. I
think it has something to do with how tall his tales are.

Watkins: Since high school I have tried to do as many
things as possible. I went to LBCC for 1 1⁄2 years while
working in the mills. I was riding my motorcycle out by Burnt
Woods in October of 87 and was hit head on by a pickup truck.
It is weird to see a vehicle out of control coming and hitting
you like that. I spent a long time recovering. What it did was
make me want to live life. I moved to Seattle and met my to
be wife Kim while working at a hotel. I then moved to Alaska
(loved it). Saw Tom McDonald in SE AK.(Hi Tom) I worked for
Mark Air Airlines up in AK. They sent me to Seattle and I became
the Lower 48 Cargo Sales Rep. I then went back to school for
a bit and then to Starbucks.
From Starbucks I became an Iron worker as
a rod-buster (rebar). It was a great time and I loved the job
(the heights were fun). During that time period I had 2 torn
rotator cuff surgeries from screwing around and being attacked
by a dog. I then had to find a career. One week while
riding my bicycle from Seattle to San Francisco to raise money
for AIDS research I had a burning thought. It was the same one
that I had the year prior riding across Alaska for AIDS. I don’t
know if it was the 100 miles a day or what but I thought-What
if all I have done and lived for is wrong! I hit me really hard.
When I left Frisco and went home Kim and I sold
every thing we owned and have become Gypsies. We live off the
land in a remote part of Washington and are strict vegans. I
have become an extreme member of an elite environmentalist group.
Kim and I conceived our son JAXON while living in a Redwood
tree for 1 month. WE SAVED IT! So don’t bark up my tree.
JAXON is 16 months and looks super in clothing but he is almost
always in HEMP clothing. He is the light of our life and loves
to hug trees. The picture is us prior a protest and our super
boy.

Ross: I met my husband Paul in April of 1986. Of course
we fell in love and were married in September of 1986. In March
of 1987 our daughter Kristina was born. In March of 1988 our son
Aaron was born and in April of 1989 our son Andrew was born. We
lived in the Eugene area for two years, Washington for a year
and finaly settled down in Medford for another seven years. We
moved back to Philomath in 1995 and that is where we are now.
Our daughter will graduate this year from Nazarene Christian School
in Philomath. Both of our sons have played football for the warriors.
Since being back in Philomath, I have worked mostly for United
Van Lines as a customer service coordinator. I have been with
United since March of 1996. My goal was to stay at home and be
a wife and mother and for the most part that is what I have done.
I started working so my husband could go to work at the school
where our kids attended as a volunteer and so he could finish
his studies for becomng a Nazarene pastor. Plans have changed
a little but that is to be expected in life.
My favorinte thing to do is spend time with my family. I love
to fish and hope to do a lot of exploring and fishing in the near
future. I can't say that I have accmplished a lot with the exception
of having a loving family home life. My ultimate goal was to be
a wife and mother and I think it has been the most rewarding and
fulfilling thing I could have done.

Weigel Watkins: Under pressure from Rod, I'm finally
sending in my bio (better late than never?!) Let’s see
. . . after school I attended LBCC. In 1989, Russ and I got
married (yes, that’s Rod’s older brother) and we
bought my parent’s house that I grew up in on Woods Creek
Road. For those of you that knew my dear mom & haven’t
heard, she passed away last year after a short bout of cancer
. . . sad year for my family.
We have two great kids – Brooke is 13, and Riley is 11.
I work part time as the payroll specialist at the Philomath
School District, and I do the books for the four log trucks
that we own.
See you in a couple weeks!

Woolery Askren: How do you summarize 20 years in a few
paragraphs . . . ?
I attended college in Idaho and graduated with a music-education
degree, with a small interlude of being a nanny in New York.
My husband Eric and I got married during my first year of teaching,
and we moved to Kansas City, Missouri so he could work on his
master’s degree at seminary. After recovering a bit from
the culture shock, I started my master’s degree, taught
music for a year and half, and then planned to stay at home
with my daughter when she was born.
Eric got a call from some friends in Scotland, who wanted us
to come over and work with a church in Perth. Our oldest daughter
Carly was born there, and we stayed for 6 months. We came home,
Eric finished his thesis, I finished my coursework, and we moved
to the California Bay Area to pastor.
After four years of California life, more culture shock and
the addition of another daughter Marlena, we were ready to move
back to the Pacific Northwest. I found a teaching job in Othello,
Washington (another small town), Eric is now a chaplain for
the Washington Department of Corrections, and we anticipate
staying put for a long time.
I’m looking forward to hearing about everyone else at
the reunion – it sounds like fun!
